Luke Wilson and Alex Benson are the Community Involvement Officers for the Dearne Valley Eco vision project. They are working with community groups to encourage them to get involved and have their say about the future of the area. If you or your organisation is interested in finding out more or getting involved, Luke and Alex are available to come and talk to you about the eco-vision. Luke and Alex's role is to consult with a wide a range of communities to discuss ideas about how people in the Dearne Valley would like to see their towns and villages developing to meet the challenges of climate change. The session can be tailored to meet the needs of your group and would be interactive and practical based in terms of helping people to look at ways of reducing their carbon footprint. This will focus on small achievable changes such as helping people to identify how they could save money on their energy bills, reducing their car use as well as help you progress your own ideas for green initiatives. We are looking for people to become community champions prompting the need to tackle climate change and reduce carbon emissions. We want to set up a group or network of local community champions who would help us to take this initiative forward and represent the views of local people. We hope to provide training and support for this role. INTERESTED? THEN GIVE LUKE OR ALEX A CALL: TEL: 0114 2635688 OR SEND ME AN EMAIL TO: dearnevalley@sheffieldcityregion.org.uk Energy monitors are available on loan via Groundwork Dearne Valley.
