We work with community groups to encourage them to get involved and have their say about the future of the area.
If you or your organisation is interested in finding out more or getting involved, please contact the Dearne Valley Eco-Vision team.
The Dearne Valley Eco-Vision project consults with a wide a range of communities to discuss ideas about how people in the Dearne Valley would like to see their towns and villages developing to meet the challenges of climate change.
Sessions can be tailored to meet the needs of your group and would be interactive and practical based in terms of helping people to look at ways of reducing their carbon footprint. This will focus on small achievable changes such as helping people to identify how they could save money on their energy bills, reducing their car use as well as help you progress your own ideas for green initiatives.
We have set up a community champions group but we are still looking for more people to become community champions promoting the need to tackle climate change and reduce carbon emissions. The network of local community champions help us to take this initiative forward and represent the views of local people.
